Influence of Copper-Based Fillers on Structural and Mechanical Properties of Polylactic Acid Composites

The importance of promising composites in modern materials science is constantly increasing. use various fillers or additives associated with their influence not only on the defining properties composite, but also physical and mechanical characteristics material. In this case, distribution additive its wetting a polymer play an important role. problem highlighted article different copper-containing (copper (II) sulphate powder, micro-sized copper oxide nano-structured oxide-based hollow microspheres) technological physical–mechanical based polylactic acid (PLA). microspheres have been obtained by ultrasonic spray atomization via pyrolysis nitrate. structure copper-based has studied using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, static light scattering. For PLA-composites, differential calorimetry, stress-strain testing, density analysis performed. plasticizing effect polycaprolactone polyethylene glycol for highly filled PLA/CuSO4 composite. samples PLA over 2 wt.% CuO full volume-filling percolation additive’s particles. Due to regular spherical shape particles lower specific volume, are uniformly distributed matrix acting as structuring reinforcing modifier. Differential showed heterogeneous crystallization increase degree crystallinity melting point polymer. It shown that pre-masterbatching technology adding plasticizers obtain contribute minimizing defects enhance properties.
